About Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is ideal for anyone who has limitations with getting up and down to the floor, has balance issues, or injuries that make a mat-based practice impractical.
Improved Posture
By being able to sit or stand with more core strength, you'll be able to breathe more deeply and feel more energetic.
Improved Mobility
Good mobility in our shoulders, spine, hips, knees and ankles will make your everyday tasks easier.
Improved Balance
The combination of better posture, improved mobility and focus, can help to improve your balance.
Calmer Mind
When you feel calmer and more focused, you'll find life easier.

What to expect in your
chair yoga class
Chair yoga classes start and finish the class sitting on a chair.
There is a standing section for those who are able to practice more traditional standing postures. This will include a balancing pose, using the chair or wall to provide more stability. Alternatives to these standing postures are provided for those who want, or need, to remain seated.
The classes are practical, with emphasis on everyday actions, such as standing up and sitting down safely with control, reaching down to put on your shoes and socks, and reaching up for things in your kitchen.
There will be different options suggested, so you move in a way that suits how you feel today and you are free to rest at any time. Most of all, we have fun.
Who is chair yoga for?
Yoga is for Everybody and Every Body.
If standing for lengths of time is out of the question due to a medical condition or injury, or the up and down to the floor of a traditional mat-based class is not practical, or if you have balance issues, then Chair Yoga is ideal for you.
